I have been working with the folks at Quality Window & Door for about 4 years now. They are a great bunch to work with. I designed their first website and have worked with them on other design related projects over the past few years. They are a great company and I am glad to be working with them once more. A new Website Design is in the works for QWD. We have some exciting new features and an updated look and feel to their site. They have hit a landmark 20 years of Business for the greater Indiana and Michigan area’s like, Goshen, Warsaw, Elkhart, South Bend, Michigan City, St. Joseph and much more. They are a great company with a great vision and McGlinchy Media & Design is happy to be providing a new Website Design and Website Development for them.

Sometimes it seems like inspiration flows in an unending abundance, and then there are times that its like trying to move a stubborn elephant. Each Website project or graphic design can hit a block like this, it’s pretty common. So, how does a Web Designer overcome this lack of imagination? One thing that has worked well for me is to seek out inspiration. Take a walk in the woods or stroll along Winona lake in Warsaw or the Goshen Mill Race to clear your thoughts. Or maybe its not the woods for you, maybe its the bustle of Downtown. Stop by a Tully’s, or if one is not near, Starbucks (but only as a last resort). Sit and take it in, watch the way people interact, expressions and behaviors; observe life around you. Another option is to see what cool and exciting things others are doing. Not to copy them but to get inspiration and apply it to your designs. So much about web design is finding what works for your client, so the more you understand about them, the better. Know what your client is looking for and exceed their expectations with creativity and enthusiasm. Indiana Web Design clients respond differently than Michigan Web Design clients, and so understanding each client is key.

This past week, McGlinchy Media & Design was featured in the Saturday copy of The Truth, a newspaper that covers Goshen, Elkhart, Warsaw and other portions of Indiana. The article was featuring a young company that focuses on Web Site Design, Web Site Development and Graphic Design for Indiana.

Although not all of the information is 100% correct, it was very nice to be featured as a upcoming business in the Goshen, Elkhart, Warsaw area’s of Indiana.

Well, glad that snow doesn’t stop web design or development. Last night Northern Indiana got hammered with a nice little system. It is beautiful and I love how it slows things down, but not for the web site designers that can access things from home. There is no rest, except for when its time to go play out in it. I hear that Goshen, Warsaw and surrounding cities have been able to keep roads mostly clear. Not something I would want to take my mac outside and work in though.

Today is the 9th of February and its update day. With many sites to update, there is so little time. Updates are great way to keep your Web Site looking fresh and gain attention and reoccurring visitors. Many of my sites around Indiana are keeping their site fresh with small changes and updates. Some are looking to do full revisions and large scale changes. All are good to keep your Web Site relevant and unique. Updates mostly include images and text changes. Other updates can include adding video or sound to your site or upgrading the interactivity with an interactive flash movie. Adding sound clips can also enhance the experience of your website. McGlinchy Media and Design enjoys partnering with small businesses around Indiana and Southern Michigan to provide premium website design and print design solutions.

McGlinchy Media & Design is beginning to take things a bit more seriously. We intend to offer exceptional designs and outstanding service to Northern Indiana.
