Yesterday Steve Schmidt, Effect Web Media, and I spoke for the M.E.R.G.E. group at the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce on Effect Websites. We spoke with other Indiana business owners about keys to having a website that is effective and productive. A short training on Search Engine Optimization, creative web design, effective web development, understanding demographics and target audience, effective text content, competition research, usability/interface design and tracking, evaluating and improving website performance. Whew, that was a mouth-full and so was cramming that much information into a half hour presentation. It went well, there was a fairly good response from the Indiana businesses represented. All-in-all it was a good time of educating local businesses on the importance of having an effective website and the value of working with an Indiana Web Design company.
