Indiana Web Development | Tables vs. Divs
In a recent SitePoint tech times article | Indiana Web Design read an interesting article about CSS table layout. The question in our minds has often been; tables or div’s - which is the best method? Everyone has their opinion - old school web developers still swear by tables and the young bucks say divs all the way. Well, we have found that a mixture of both is a nice development method for our Indiana Web Development preferences. We have found that using divs completely has given us too much cross browser issues, but using tables where applicable and divs where logical, we have found an Indiana Web Development method that seems to work for us. Now with the introduction of CSS5 and the claim that IE8 could support it - there is hope and possible change on the horizon. The catch is that IE8 will optionally handle it - but, IE7 and IE6 will still not. So, what to do then? Well, this is the juggle and struggle of Indiana Web Development. Cheers!
